Pleora took part in the Shanghai International Machine Vision Exhibition with its video interface product series
2015-05-14

Pleora Technologies, the world's leading supplier of high-performance video interface products, unveiled its new line of products that work in harsh environments to provide video connectivity at the International Machine Vision Exhibition in Shanghai on March 17, 2015. Industrial-grade iPort ™ NTX-GigE embedded hardware is used to provide GigE Vision video connectivity, while external image capture cards convert Camera Link and HD-SDI video images to USB3 Vision format, allowing manufacturers to simplify imaging system design.

"In January 2003, Pleora opened a sales office in China to better serve its growing customer base." Harry Page, president of Pleora Technologies, said the company is rapidly expanding into China and continues to grow with products such as flat-panel detectors for medical imaging, networked video systems for traffic monitoring and detection systems for automated manufacturing.

Harry Page, president of Pleora Technologies

On the scene, Harry Page introduced the related products and industry applications of Pleora to China Industrial Control Network.
IPort CL-TEN external image capture card converts Camera Link to GigE Vision, which is used for Camera Link Camera to send video signal on 10 GigE Link. Among them, iPort CL-Ten Full model can support a Full mode of camera signal transmission. The iPORT CL-TEN Dual Medium model can support signal transmission of two Medium or Base mode cameras simultaneously.

IPort CL-TEN external image acquisition card

According to Harry Page, the iPort CL-Ten external image capture card can be used in roadside and movement detection systems. The product has the advantages of networking, multicast and long distance, which can convert the Camera images from the existing Camera Link Full and Medium interfaces into the image output conforming to GigE Vision standards. Its long distance fiber optic transmission advantage allows processing equipment to be moved to a centralized operation center far from orbit. The PLC of the product can work with external synchronous signal, sensor, camera or light source.

CL-TEN: Railway Inspection System

The iPort CL-U3 external image acquisition card launched by Pleora converts the Camera Link Camera to the USB3 Vision interface, which is easier to integrate, and transmits Camera images from the Camera Link Base or Medium interface. The product can be connected to different computer platforms, without the need for PCI/ PCIE image capture card. The integrated PLC and GPIO function of the product can control, trigger or synchronize other cameras or any visual components. Can the industrial version run at minus 40? C up to 60? C. Work in the environment.

Then, Harry Page shared the application solution of the iPort CL-U3 external image acquisition card for industrial robots. The CL-U3 external image capture card converts an existing camera into a plug-and-play USB3 Vision camera.
"The benefit is that it reduces customer costs, increases product availability, and reduces system complexity." According to Page, the product transmits raw images, power and control signals directly to terminals such as PCs, laptops, embedded systems or tablets via a USB3.0 cable. The thinner and lighter USB3.0 cables are easier to wire and can be quickly built and disassembled. The built-in PLC can very accurately control and trigger the camera and other components, such as image sensors and light sources, etc.

Industrial robot application

The most important feature of the iPort NTX-Gige embedded video interface is that it can be quickly integrated with image sensors and designed for cameras or other imaging devices with high-performance Gige Vision 2.0 interface. The product is small in size and low in power. It supports POE and the power transmission rate of external power supply is close to 1Gb/s. Supports 32-bit, 120MHz parallel LVTTL/LVCMOS video input and 4 interlacing data signals; With a 120 MB frame cache to support large image sensors, support line scan and face scan modes.
