On 22 July, VisionChina (Beijing) 2021 was successfully concluded at the Beijing International Convention Centre. The theme of this two-day conference was "Intelligent Manufacturing Leading High Quality Development", and a number of industry experts were invited to deliver exciting presentations in various fields. The conference attracted 3,267 professional delegates to attend and observe the exhibition.
We had the opportunity to interview Mr. He Wei from Xi'an Zhiwei Sensing Technology Co. Mr. He Wei gave a detailed introduction of the products exhibited at the show and a brief analysis of the future of machine vision applications! Let's have a look!
1、What are the latest technologies and products you have brought to VisionChina (Beijing) 2021? What are the highlights of your main products?
Zhiwei Sensing's founding team has been working in the field of optical MEMS for more than 20 years, and has accumulated strong technology in the principle simulation, structure design, process development, integrated packaging, system testing and application development of optical MEMS chips. Our products are widely used in laser display, laser projection, VR/AR, laser communication and other fields that require program control of laser beam.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, facing the massive demand of artificial intelligence perception, Zhiwei Sensing has taken MEMS chip as the starting point and developed artificial intelligence vision hardware modules and products such as 3D camera and MEMS solid-state LIDAR downstream. 3D camera covers the field of machine vision and high precision face recognition, while LIDAR meets the application of autonomous driving, vehicle-road coordination and intelligent transportation.
This time, VisionChina mainly brought a number of high-precision 3D cameras developed by our company, which are different from the common scattered static structured light solutions on the market, but based on our MEMS micro-vibrator solution of laser grating dynamic structured light solution, which can provide more high-precision 3D data. The camera uses an infrared laser light source to improve robustness and immunity to ambient light. The camera also integrates an on-chip computing engine, which can directly output 3D point cloud data without taking up computing resources on the user's end, allowing the user to focus only on their own back-end development needs. The camera also supports the output of point cloud, depth, greyscale and RGB data to meet the needs of users in different scenarios.
For industrial applications, in sub-millimetre accuracy scenarios, such as 3D bin-picking and positioning guidance, our MEMS solutions have obvious advantages in terms of accuracy, cost, reliability and stability, and have been used in many applications. We provide the most cost-effective products for industrial applications.
2、Machine vision is known as the "eye of industry", as an emerging technology is highly expected, is one of the key technologies to promote the global manufacturing intelligence revolution. In which segments do you think there is more market space for machine vision?
2D vision has been widely used in the manufacturing sector, but with the development of smart manufacturing, more flexible production lines are required, which requires machines to be like people, requiring more intelligent "vision organs" - 3D vision sensors. We have seen a wealth of applications for 3D vision in scenarios such as disorderly gripping and positioning in industrial production assembly. In scenarios such as spraying, grinding and welding, the demand for 3D vision has also grown significantly due to the harsh operating environment or the disconnectedness of skilled workers, and we are very optimistic about the market space for these scenarios.
3、From the perspective of the current industrial environment, where will the company focus its business next?
We are a provider of laser beam manipulation chips and modules (MEMS micro-vibrators), which can be found everywhere in laser applications, such as LIDAR, optical communication, laser display, AR-HUD and so on. There is another important application area for MEMS microscopes - high precision 3D imaging, and we offer the above mentioned 3D cameras and modules, which are widely used in industry, logistics, security, medical and aesthetic applications, etc. The key applications will be developed in the following scenarios.
4、Was your company satisfied with the quality and quantity of visitors to the exhibition? Did you meet some important customers or potential customers?
This year's VisionChina (Beijing) was more focused on thematic conferences than other exhibitions we have attended, and the visitors were very professional and were generally integrators in the vision industry or end users who needed vision solutions. There was also a deeper understanding of some new demand scenarios, such as workpiece positioning, gripping, etc., which gave us more confidence in the industry outlook for 3D vision.
5、Will you continue to attend the 2022 show? What are your expectations for next year's show?
VisionChina is a vertical and highly professional exhibition, and is also a very good platform for peers in the industry to communicate with each other. We are looking forward to further exchanges with our customers on the ground and to discuss more application scenarios for 3D vision. See you all at VisionChina 2022.
